The Cleveland Cavaliers Use Interactive Crowdwave Technology

According to NBA.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be using a fan interaction called CrowdWave. CrowdWave is a system where fans can interact with simple movement such as there arms. With movement, fans will be able to control the video games that will appear on Q-tube (Quicken Loans Arena's video scoreboard). The technology uses cameras to monitor the movement of fans. Cavaliers director of game presentation, Amanda Greco said, “We take pride in giving our fans one of the best game entertainment experiences in sports, and with that comes the responsibility of looking for the next big thing that is going to provide the ‘WOW’ factor.”

  1. It is interesting how they are using technology to draw in customer participation. I am sure that they wow factor also encourages people to attend more games because they want to know what will be the next newest thing from technology that will encourage them to purchase more tickets.
