MLB Uses New Camera System

Accroding to an article, the Major League Baseball and the broadcast-tech company sportvision will install a player-tracking camera system in ballparks across the league. The point of installing this new system is to help produce accurate defensive statistics. There is a buzz that players such as Derek Jeter are getting awards for fielding experiance when statistical models says he is performing below average. in all, there is to many uknown things that happen on the field and the player-tracking camera system is installed to help insure with the accuracy of onfield activities.

  1. I think this will be interesting. It help players to improve their skills and see things that happen during the game that their coach is unable to see because they are so focused on the game itself. I think the referees should watcdh the tapes also to reduce their margins of error.
